Programme for NGOs in Nordic & Baltic countries
The Nordic-Baltic NGO program aims at fostering cooperation between Nordic and Baltic NGOs, strengthening the civic society and providing support to new sustainable initiatives.
» Priority areas in 2012:
- ENVIRONMENT & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Innovative and sustainable project applications in other fields will be considered as well.
» Who can apply? - Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) in the Baltic and Nordic countries.
NB! Each project must have partners from at least three countries in the Nordic-Baltic region (including the applicant), of which at least one partner must represent the Nordic Region and at least one another partner must come from Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania.
» Financial framework:
- maximum grant per project is LVL 9000
- although co-financing will be regarded favourably, the relevance of the project’s content and the qualitative explanation of its idea will be decisive
- the programme's funding may be used to finance experince exchange, training, societal education, research
- the programme's funding is designed to launch new initiatives that will continue even after the specific project has come to an end
- the programme's funding may NOT be used to finance regular activities and administration, hardware acquisition, e.g. for purchasing IT equipment or covering construction costs.
» Aplication form
Downloading document forms, filling them in painstakingly, writing and sending e-mails, repeating all this over and over again if something goes wrong at some point... This is all in the past now. Latvian NGOs can now electronically apply for grants to engage in cooperation with the Nordic countries. This is effective and user and environmentally friendly.
The new electronic application environment, which is called NCM-Grants (Nordic Council of Ministers' Grants), allows applications to be completed even a little at a time, right up to the deadline. Before you apply, make sure you read the guidelines carefully and the instructions on how to use the new system. When you register as a user and fill in your application, this does not result in automatic submission of the application. The grant administrator shall review, after 2 April, only those applications that were filled in completely and submitted by the user before the deadline.
The system saves everything you enter in real time so you do not need to worry about losing any information that you provide. You can also regularly save your results manually.
In the event that you receive a grant, you will later need to submit a report via NCM-Grants – which will also host all communication between applicants, recipients and administrators. Among other things, this means that administrators will no longer be accepting applications on paper or via e-mail.
NB! The whole application process in conducted in English. www.ncmgrants.org
