In cooperation with the "European Movement in Latvia" association, the strategy board game "Democracy" has been produced, which promotes an understanding of the importance of the basic elements of democracy, and helps to realize the possibilities and risks of a democratic state. The game is suitable for students in the senior stage of elementary school and high school, to encourage them to think about democracy, understand and talk about it, learn to listen to the opinion of others, and defend their own. In the strategy board game "Democracy", players are tasked with creating a democratic state.
The director of the Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Latvia, Stefan Eriksson, emphasizes: "We cannot take democracy for granted, and an open discussion about what are the cornerstones and advantages of a functioning democracy must take place in every society. Each generation must be convinced that democracy is the most successful model for involving citizens in solving common problems with the goal of building stable, fair, and prosperous societies."
