The Nordic Baltic Seminar on Gender and Financial Crisis taking place in Riga on 3-4 December will discuss the current financial crisis from a gender perspective.
The seminar will focus on how women and men in the Nordic and Baltic countries have met the ongoing financial crisis. Target groups of the seminar: politicians, civil servants, researchers, CSO:s and NGO:s from both Nordic and Baltic countries.
The aim is to exchange experience and best practices to find solutions to the problems of today. How can we guarantee that gender perspective is integrated into the decision-making processes? The seminar will result in concrete recommendations and proposals for joint future projects.
Opening words will be delivered by Ingi Valur Johannsson, Chair of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Executive Committee for Gender Equality.
Professor Markus Jäntti from the Stockholm University, Sweden, will talk about gender equality and financial crisis in terms of challenges and possibilities.
