The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia and the Danish Cultural Institute in Latvia organize the conference „The Necessity of Creative Industries in Latvia” on May 27 in Riga.
The aim of the conference is to introduce and inform about creative industries as a driving force of the new economy, which is based on the creativity of the individual and close collaboration between artists, researchers and business specialists. Creative industries professionals from the Nordic countries will introduce their experience of developing creative industries.
Helena Demakova, Minister for Culture will open the conference, Eva Emnéus, Director of The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia and Finn Andersen, Secretary General of The Danish Cultural Institute will address it.
Prior to the conference three, working groups with 30 participants will have their meetings on May 26. Themes of the working groups:

Design / advertisement / architecture group
Music and publishing group
