Within the frames of NORDIC SPRING Dance and Music Centre BARAKA continues to introduce the young and bold Nordic choreographers who form the current dance development in Europe. After the all-male dance company led by Swedish Rasmus Ölme who was presented on March 12, it's time for Finland's award-winning choreographer Jenni Kivelä to visit Riga.
Jenny Kivelä "Red-Letter Days" (Finland), May 24, 19.00 New Riga Theatre
"Red-Letter Days" is a poetic and fun performance about the difficult side of attending parties and social gatherings. It charms audiences with its unique, ‘Kaurismäki-style’ humour and features a perfect set of dancers. Among them one of the leading Finnish dance artists Katri Soini who is known both for her excellent technique and her acting skills.
The show is a charming story that takes the audience from the serious to the comic and finally leaves everyone happy and full of hopes. Welcome to a true spring mood performance on a regular Tuesday night in Riga!
