A CO2 E-car parade will be taking place in the downtown Riga on May 15, presenting vehicles with a low level of CO2 emissions for a broad public view.

The project is designed to increase public awareness in the Baltic States about the global climate crisis and show possible ways to solve it through the latest technologies.

More than 20 environmentally friendly vehicles gathered from Latvia, Estonia, Sweden and Denmark will consist of various car models: electric sports car, hybrid vehicles, an electric Pobeda, an electric moped EGO Helio as well as an experimental sample of hydrogen-powered Umo-hymo, an electric Renault Clio and many other fascinating and ecological means of transportation.

During the parade the environmentally friendly vehicles will create a CO2 path on the Riga map with the help of GPS tracking system. The path will be screened live on the project’s website www.co2erace.lv

See a detailed program of the event.

The event will also be attended by Danish artist Jacob Fuglsang Mikkelsen, who is the author of the entire CO2 E-Race project and widely known for his creative ways to address societal issues.

The project is designed to increase public awareness in the Baltic States about the global climate crisis and show possible ways to solve it through the latest technologies.

The first part of the CO2 E-Race Riga project started last year on November 14th, when electric cars LYNX and HUMMER created the CO2 map of Riga.

The CO2 E-Race Riga is organised by the Danish Cultural Institute in Latvia in cooperation with the Nordic Council of Ministers` Office in Latvia, the Embassy of Denmark in Latvia, the Soros Foundation–Latvia, the Latvian Ministry of Environment and the Riga Motor Museum.
