The Capital of Latvia has the honour of being the European Capital of Culture in 2014, so Riga with its colourful events is attracting international attention at the moment and getting ready to host European Film Awards (EFA) ceremony that will take place in December. And also the Riga International Film Festival (Riga IFF) will for the first time take place in Riga from December 2nd-12th, where viewers will be offered more than 120 films, talks, lectures and workshops, as well as evening mingles. It is remarkable that that during the Festival  on Desember 12 Jan Erik Holst, the Executive Editor of the Norwegian Film Institute, will present his book ""Stork flight over the pine forest"" (""Stork flying over Pinewood""). This book describes important cultural events, and presents many aspects of this interesting and important cooperation in the field of film between the Nordic and the Baltic countries.
