The Nordplus programme shall promote quality and innovation in the education systems in the Nordic and Baltic countries by supporting many types of exchanges, projects and networks. All cooperation activities must be based on agreements between educational institutions and organisations from the participating countries. Nordplus now welcomes new applications with deadline 1 March 2011. In addition to the overarching priorities for the programme and the specific priorities set for each of the sub-programmes, projects focusing on climatic issues are prioritised in 2011, as earlier years.

Nordplus Junior shall strengthen and develop cooperation between the participating countries in the area of school education and shall support networks of pre-schools, primary and secondary schools (general or vocational). Will in 2011 give priority to cooperation activities within the following areas and themes: quality in education, vocational
education, health, prevention of drop-out, multicultural classrooms and entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity.

Nordplus Higher Education shall contribute to cooperation between higher education institutions in the participating countries and to the establishment of networks for exchange and dissemination of experiences, best practices and innovative results.
Shall also contribute to cooperation between higher education institutions and other institutions or organisations working in the area of higher education. Will in 2011 give priority to cooperation activities within the following areas and themes: Development of Joint Study
Programmes, Curriculum Development projects and quality assurance work in higher education. Renewal and enlargement of networks to include new partners, especially from the new participating countries, is also a prioritised area.

Nordplus Adult Learning shall contribute to cooperation and networking between contributors to adult learning (education institutions as well as enterprises, organisations and NGOs) in order to promote the development of quality and innovation in all adult learning. Will in 2011 give priority to cooperation activities within the following areas and themes: Adults' basic skills and language skills, recognition and validation of skills, challenges of modern citizenship (e.g. environmental awareness, climate issues, creativity and innovation and entrepreneurship), strengthening of social cohesion in education, and strengthening the link between adult
learning and working life. Applications focusing on the motivation of vulnerable groups are given priority, as are new applicants and partnerships, applications covering new issues, problems, methods and solution models. Projects that are cross-sectoral within the sector of adult learning and/or cross-organisational will also be prioritised.

Nordplus Horizontal shall contribute to cooperation between the educational sectors and shall support cross-sectoral networks and projects. Will in 2011 give priority to cooperation activities within the following areas and themes: Cross-sectoral cooperation within the areas and themes given priority in the 3 sectoral sub-programmes, the development of good quality and innovation in the educational systems and cross-sectoral cooperation on teacher education and pedagogical methods that may involve schools, institutions and organisations for adult learning, higher education and research as well as enterprises.

The Framework programme supports mobility, project and network activities.
The total budget for The Nordplus Framework Programme in 2011, is approximately 62 million DKK or 8,3 million EUR.
The application- and reporting system ARS will open on January 10, and all information on www.nordplusonline.org will be updated before the same date.
