The EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 represent funding from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to reduce economic and social disparities and strengthen cooperation with 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics. The total financing available to Latvia will be EUR 102.1 million which is by EUR 29.15 million or 40 percent more than during the previous period.
Support will be provided under the following programs: Research and Education (EUR 14.5 million); Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation (EUR 10 million); International Police Cooperation and Combating Crime (EUR 15 million); Civil Society (EUR 8.5 million); Business Development, Innovation and SMEs (EUR 12.5 million); Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation and Environment (EUR 14 million); Correctional Services (EUR 13 million); Bilateral Fund (EUR 2.442 million); and Social Dialogue – Decent Work (EUR 0.5 million).
The memoranda of understanding about the implementation of the EEA and Norway grants in 2014-2021 was signed between Latvia and Norway on December 14, 2017.
