On Thursday, 21 May, an exhibition titled “The Best of EWK. Freedom of Speech: Laughing at Power – the Need for Political Satire at All Times†was opened at the Latvian Parliament. The exhibition’s author is the famous Swedish cartoonist Ewert Karlsson.
The exhibition was organised at the initiative of the Swedish Embassy in Riga and with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia.
Ewert Karlsson is Sweden’s internationally most famous political illustrator. He lived between the years of 1918-2004 but is better known under the initials EWK.ÂThe exhibition will be available for the public between June 15 - 30 at the EU House in Riga.
