The financial crisis - a brake or a starting pistol for a progressive climate policy? This is the theme for the Nordic prime ministers' second Globalisation Forum which will take place from 26 - 27 February at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland.
How can dealing with the credit crunch and having a strong climate policy go hand-in-hand? How can a fruitful dialogue on innovation between the private and the public sector be stimulated? Have the Nordic countries opportunities to create new billion industries in, for example, electric car production? These are some of the questions to be discussed at the Globalisation Forum.
The idea behind holding an annual globalisation forum stems from the prime ministers’ desire for the Nordic countries to discuss and exchange ideas on the challenges and opportunities of globalisation.
The Globalisation Forum, which is held this year under the auspices of the Icelandic Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers, is organised by the Nordic Secretariat at the Icelandic Prime Minister's Office and the Nordic Council of Ministers' Secretariat in Copenhagen.
