    Finnish writer Salla Simukka is the author of the international success story The Snow White Trilogy. Lumikki Andersson, the main character in the trilogy, is a 17-year-old girl who has learned to defend herself and to trust no one. She is a lonely wolf and lonesome survivor. The Snow White Trilogy has been sold in 46 countries. Also in Latvia.The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia, the printing house ""Zvaigzne ABC"" in cooperation with the Finnish Embassy in Latvia and FILI, Finnish Literature Exchange invite to a literary event with the participation of Finnish writer Salla Simuka, the author of The Snow White Trilogy, taking place on 9 September, 17.00 at the premises of Birojnīca (Bergs Bazaar), Riga. Conversation will be held in English. Salla Simuka: „I know people who have enjoyed the trilogy who are fifteen years old and those who are fifty years old. Good books don’t have an age limit. Literature is literature.”

    Salla Simukka (b. 1981) is a translator and author of juvenile fiction. She has written several novels and one collection of short prose for young readers, and has translated adult fiction, children’s books, and plays. She writes book reviews for the newspapers Helsingin Sanomat and Hämeen Sanomat and the weekly Suomen Kuvalehti. In addition, she is associate editor at a literary publication for young people, Lukufiilis.
