On 9 May, the Europe Day, at the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences an international conference titled ”Education and culture – Development Platform of European Regions” will take place.
The event aims at the promotion of co-operation between the Baltic states and Nordic countries through evaluating the role of higher education in the development and growth of Europe’s regions. During the conference, a debate will be held on the Baltic Sea Region’s success stories and the opportunities that the EU provides in order to enhance the region’s competitiveness. Latvia and Nordic public officials and experts have been invited to deliver their reports.
The conference is organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in association with the European Parliament Information Office, the European Commission Representation in Latvia, the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, the Nordic Council of Minister’s Office in Latvia, and the NGO European Movement in Latvia.
The event is financed under the Management Partnership concluded between the European Commission and the Government of Latvia. The aim of the Management Partnership is to inform the society about the European Union.
