The international Baltic/Nordic Performance art project Friend_Ship will take place on 10-20 June, with 12 artists from 6 Baltic Sea Region countries making performances in 6 harbours.
Artists from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden and Denmark will be travelling between the ports, participating in creative labs, making presentations and improvised performances.
Destinations are the following: 10 June in Riga, 12 June in Tallinn, 13 June in Helsinki, 15 June in Stockholm, 18 June in Copenhagen and 20 June in Klaipeda.
Project involves such artists as Kriss Zilgalvis (LV) and Kaspars Grosevs (LV), Andrus Joonas (EE) and Mari Kartau aka Siram (EE), Henrik Vestergaard (DK) and Christine Fentz (DK), Tara Pattenden (FIN) and Christina Georgiou (FIN), Iris Smeds (SE) and Linnea Sjoberg (SE), Benas Šarka (LT) and Evaldas Jansas (LT).Improvisation will be taking place in the kitchen as well. With the participation of artists, a cook from the restaurant Bergs, Karlis Mugins, will create the best examples of the Latvian kitchen.
Along with the Friend_ship artists, the ship will be boarded by the Vides Filmu Studija (Environmental Film Studio) and the Latvian TV series Ziemeļu puse/ Nordic Style, who will gather material for their next TV season.
Firend_ship will also contain Baltic Water laboratory, featuring sound-space experiments and other performances.
With the support of the Nordic Culture Point, project is organised by Performance Art Union of Latvia.
