"Nordic ID", the exhibition of Nordic contemporary architecture will be the part of Cesis Art Festival 2015 and will be open at the CÄ“sis Concert Hall from July 4. Nordic architecture is known for its attention to the beauty of landscapes and the respect for nature. NORDIC ID asks what is today's Nordic identity and how it is reflected in architecture. The project is a collaboration with curators from Denmark, Norway, Finland and Estonia who were asked to offer their own versions of the Nordic identity. Every curator chose five architecture projects that would express the answer.
The exhibition was prepared by Baltic States architecture and design magazine Project Baltia (St Petersburg). Curators Martin Keiding, editor of magazine "Arkitekten" (Denmark), Anders Melsom, editor of "Conditions" (Norway), Daniel Golling, editor of "Form" (Sweden), Tuomas Toivonen, architect from NOW (Soome), and Villem Tomiste, architect from Stuudio Tallinn (Estonia). Exhibition organized in association with the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia and the Latvian Museum of Architecture.
