The exhibition "The Weather Diaries" in the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Riga, presenting 10 Icelandic, Greenlandic and Faroese fashion designers, moves away from the conventional fashion world and its seasonal trends. Instead, it focuses on the creativity and the factors influencing it – cultural identity, traditions, nature, landscapes, weather, as well as the Nordic innovative approach in creating sustainable fashion by using local resources. The exhibition will be supplemented with the discussion on 7 February at 17.00, where some of the artists will share their experiences on the role of the designer in creating sustainable fashion. In discussion will participate Kristín Ingvarsdóttir (Iceland), project manager of "The Weather Diaries", the Northern House in Reykjavik; Tone Skårdal Tobiassen (Norway), a journalist, author of several books, the founder of the Nordic Initiative Clean & Ethical (nicefashion.org); Steinunn Sigurðardóttir / STEiNUNN, (Iceland) a world-class fashion artist; Guðrun Rógvadóttir (Faroe Islands), representing Gudrun & Gudrun - Faroese design company specialized in sustainable fashion made for conscious consumers and Rolands Pēterkops from MAREUNROL'S, (Latvia).
