On 27 May, an event dedicated to strengthening research collaboration between the Nordic and Baltic countries was organised by the Latvian Council of Science together with NordForsk and the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia.
The event was opened by Elita Zondaka, Acting Director of the Latvian Council of Science, and Johnny Mogensen, Director of NordForsk. In their opening remarks, both speakers highlighted the importance of international cooperation in advancing research and fostering innovation.
During the event, Latvian researchers presented success stories developed in collaboration with Nordic partners. Attention was devoted to the fields of artificial intelligence and sustainable forestry.
The event concluded with a panel discussion on the role of Nordic-Baltic cooperation in enhancing the quality of research and increasing international visibility and a networking section, giving opportunities for participants to establish new contacts.
