You are invited to join an educational biodiversity walk through Cēsis! This free guided tour-expedition will take place during the LAMPA Conversation Festival.
Inspired by best practices from the Nordic countries, we will explore and discuss practical solutions and actions suited to different needs and urban spaces that help maintain and promote biodiversity and improve soil health in city environments.
Everyone is welcome – garden enthusiasts, urban garden and park planners, city planners and horticulturists, as well as students and anyone interested in the topic or seeing the city of Cēsis from an unusual perspective.

ABOUT KRISTĪNE ĀBOLIŅA
Kristīne has worked for many years as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Latvia, focusing on sustainable development, environmental philosophy and ethics, urban quality and planning, neighborhood development, and urban gardening. She now works at the Cēsis Municipality Council on implementing circular economy principles and leads gardening classes at the community center “Pērle.”
ABOUT CO-ORGANISER
The environmental organisation “Ziemeļu ceļš” implements projects in the fields of environment, sustainability and security, with an emphasis on scientific activity and civic engagement. It also educates the public on the sustainable use and preservation of natural resources.
Photography and filming will take place during the events of the LAMPA Conversation Festival. The resulting images may be used for publicity and public information purposes.
