The first application round of the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Program “Culture” in 2021 has been completed. So far professional art and culture practitioners from Latvia have received funding of 252,535 EUR. Compared to the previous year, the received funding has increased by almost 100,000 euros.
In the module for Artist Residencies from Latvia 12 applications were submitted and 3 projects have received support of 117 450 EUR: Association ISSP in cooperation with kuš! (Association Grafiskie stāsti) as the Uninited Riga Residency, VV Foundation PaiR Residency in Pavilosta and Sansusī Wellbeing Residency programme in Akniste.
10 mobility scholarships from Latvia have been awarded for the travel and stay within Nordic countries for a total amount of EUR 9850. Andrejs Jarovojs, Toms Ostrovskis, Mārtiņš Roķis, Darja Meļņikova, Anastasija Raspopova, Maija Pavlova, Maija Rudovska, Terēze Zīberte-Ijaba, Rūdolfs Gedins and Edgars Samitis were granted Mobility funding. A total of 28 mobility applications were submitted from Latvia.
In the long-term cooperation network module the Latvian Center for Contemporary Art has been supported with 53 175 EUR. In the short-term network program 3 of the 5 applicants have received support - Riga Cirkus, Association “Artillery 35” and Nordic-Baltic shorts network - short film festival network. The total amount of support in the short-term network module is 59 660 EUR.
For the financing of the Nordic Culture and Art Program, 6 applications were submitted from Latvia and the project Burn_Slow, the association of Nordic and Baltic artists and art students, received support with 12,400 EUR.
The upcoming application rounds for Mobility funding in 2021 will take place from September 1 until September 30. The next application round for the short-term network funding in 2021 opens on August 20 until September 20. More information: www.nordiskkulturkontakt.org
