Energy security is one of the priorities of the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia for the coming three-year period, and to strengthen our impact in the fields of energy and sustainability, two new colleagues have joined our team to work specifically on these matters.
Gints Janums, Senior Advisor on Energy and Sustainability, brings more than 20 years of diplomatic experience representing Latvia in the Nordic countries. As Head of the Trade Department at the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, he was responsible for exports and investments.
Armands Jukums, Advisor in Energy and Sustainability, joins us with a background in energy, innovation and sustainable urban development. He has worked on innovation projects in the energy sector and at the Riga City Council, leading “Smart City” and sustainability projects.
Together, Gints and Armands will contribute to strengthening Nordic-Baltic cooperation in the fields of energy security, sustainability and the green transition. Their experience will support our joint efforts to promote practical solutions, knowledge exchange and regional partnerships that help build resilient and future-proof energy systems across Latvia and the wider Nordic-Baltic region.
