The Nordic and Baltic NGO Programme is open for applications from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) until 17 March.

This program supports NGOs working in public interest to strengthen civil society, social cohesion, and democracy in the Baltic States through collaboration with Nordic partners.

    Funding priorities
Applied projects must align with at least one of the following priorities set out in the Nordic Vision 2030:

    · Green transition: Promoting carbon neutrality and sustainable economies (carbon neutrality, biodiversity, circular economy, sustainable consumption, international cooperation).
    · Competitive region: Supporting innovation, digital integration, and green growth (innovation, labour markets, digitalisation).
    · Social sustainability: Fostering inclusivity, equality, and cultural exchange (fostering inclusivity, equality and cultural exchange; health and welfare, inclusive transition, civil society, cohesion).

The project must involve at least three NGOs, including the applicant organization, from 2 Nordic + 1 Baltic country, OR 1 Nordic + 2 Baltic countries. The applicant organisation must be proficient in English for application, reporting, and communication.

    Eligible activities

    • Networking, i.e., seminars and workshops on topics related to the funding priorities.
    • Study visits and experience exchanges.
    • Capacity-building through training and societal education.
    • Research projects.

In 2024, an unusually high number of applications were received, and out of 16 applications, six projects received a grant. The projects supported ranged from biodiversity in urban backyards and intelligent transport systems to human rights and integration of women, peace and security in public policy. Annual budget for this programme is approximately €60 000 for each of the Baltic countries, with grants in the amount of €7 000 – €25 000 available per project.

    Deadline for applications: March 17.
    Language: English.

Additional reading on the programme and application requirements is available here.
Application process is outlined and described here.
