From April 17 until June 14, the exhibition of the Riga Photography Biennial Zoom In: Ecology, takes place in the Great Hall of the Riga Contemporary Art Space, featuring artists also from the Nordic countries.

The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia is one of the long-standing supporters and partners of the event, contributing to the participation of Nordic artists. This year marks the biennial’s tenth anniversary, and its central theme is ecology, which has gained particular significance in both public discourse and artistic practices in the wake of climate change and the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The exhibition invites reflection on the relationship between humans and digital technologies, exploring how digital activities affect ecosystems, natural resources and human nature itself. This year’s exhibition is curated by Inga Brūvere (Latvia) and Marie Sjøvold (Norway), bringing together artists from the Nordic-Baltic region as well as other countries.

Visitors are invited to experience the exhibition and engage with the ideas expressed by the artists on ecology and the development of future societies. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Friday from 12:00 to 19:00, on Saturdays from 11:00 to 19:00 and on Sundays from 11:00 to 17:00.
