World-famous manufacturers, popular labels and promising new entrepreneurs and young designers come together at the Baltics’ largest textile industry fair "Baltic Fashion & Textile Riga 2016" to be held from 7–9 April at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga.
The fair brings together more than 170 companies from 16 countries. “Baltic Fashion & Textile Riga 2016” will offer a three-day programme of fashion shows and the entrepreneurs, designers, fashion and textile design students, lecturers, stylists and other interested parties are invited to attend the international seminar "Fashion and Design" to get acquainted with the current industry news and trends. The panel discussion on the key success factors driving the European fashion industry will bring together notable speakers. One of them - Margareta van den Bosch - is supported by Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Latvia. She is a creative consultant and a long-term chief designer at H&M. Currently Margareta van den Bosch is in charge of all H&M collaboration collections with the biggest fashion houses. She has worked together with Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Alexander Wang and fashion houses like Lanvin, Versace, Comme des Garcon, Marni. Margareta gets her inspiration at London’s flea markets and textile fairs in Paris. In her opinion the hardest task is to create ready-to-wear pieces, yet surprise consumers with something new every time.
