The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office representation in Daugavpils was opened in 2021. Since then, many projects have been implemented, and the number of local partners in Daugavpils and elsewhere in Latgale has grown significantly. With the increase of workload for the first time an internship position for local students was opened at the Daugavpils office. Following a competitive selection process, Daugavpils University student Liliāna Kiva has joined our team.
Liliāna is a final-year student in the English Studies programme. During her studies, she has gained experience in journalism, working as a student journalist. Her interest in international cooperation and cultural diversity grew during a semester spent studying in Poland. After returning to Latvia, Liliāna joined an initiative aimed at helping international students get to know one another and learn more about the local culture.
Liliāna joined our organisation with an interest in working in an environment where values such as democracy, equality and social responsibility are important. In her daily work, she works closely with the Head of the Daugavpils office at the new office premises at the Daugavpils University on Parādes Street 1 (Room 132), assisting in implementation of regional projects, strengthening existing partnerships and promoting Nordic values across the Latgale region.
