Vidzeme Planning Region will organize VIDZEME INNOVATION WEEK for the fourth time in 2022 and invites companies, municipalities, organizations, and other interested stakeholders in Vidzeme and beyond to join the organizers' community to offer knowledge-rich and valuable events to the visitors of Innovation Week.

Vidzeme Innovation Week takes place from February 21 to February 25, 2022. It is when the most frequently used word in Vidzeme is "innovation" and when we prove to ourselves and others that the people of Vidzeme dare, know-how, and do it.

The initiative's main goal is to strengthen the innovation spirit of Vidzeme residents and create a fertile environment for the creation of new products and services, cooperation and exchange of ideas between the education and research sector, entrepreneurs and scientists, industry leaders, and society.

By working together with the players in the circulation and bioeconomy, new, sustainable digital solutions are emerging that are significantly developing the region's competitiveness. In order to support and promote it, a seminar “Circulation and Bioeconomy in Agriculture - Potential of Cooperation between Students and Farmers” will take place within the framework of Vidzeme Innovation Week.

In the seminar, we will hear experience story of a young, active farmer Kārlis Ruks about the development perspectives of farmers, how and whether different innovative/digital solutions are used in his daily life. Maija Rieksta, a representative of the Vidzeme planning region, will share the experience about how the circulation and bioeconomy are implemented in the Vidzeme region and what are the existing trends and challenges.
