On 10 and 11 July, the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia will participate in the twelfth LAMPA Conversation Festival. Once again, visitors will be welcome to join the Nordic stage “Ziemeļsala” (Northern Island), which will offer a diverse programme of discussions with experts on current issues in both Latvia and the Nordic countries.
One of this year’s central activities will the Danish tradition of folkekøkken – a shared meal enjoyed with people who are brought together by location rather than family ties or close friendship. The meal and light refreshments inspired by Nordic and Latvian flavours will be offered free of charge. The activity is organised by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Latvia in cooperation with all Nordic embassies represented in Latvia – Danish Embassy, Finnish Embassy, Norwegian Embassy, Swedish Embassy – as well as the Danish Cultural Institute in Latvia.
In addition, the Nordic stage programme will explore a range of themes related to moving from anxiety to agency, promoting civic participation, strengthening energy independence, developing innovative mobility solutions, examining gender-based disinformation, enhancing a sense of security in border areas and shaping innovative ideas from Latvian future leaders.
